Dragon Coils Toward the Sea. Pick the Stars. White Crane Lowers Smoothly. Hug Buddha's foot. These are some of the movements teens and tweens will have fun doing as they enhance their body’s qi circulation, reduce and manage stress, and improve mental balance.
Hug The Moon Wellness Studio teaches a type of qi gong exercise system that is based on traditional Chinese medicine theories and concepts. The exercises promote good health for the body, mind and spirit. Students will learn a series of simple yet graceful qi gong movements, meditational breathing, and acupressure point stimulation techniques.
Instructors will help the teens develop a keener sense of physical and mental awareness. They hope their teachings will benefit their future well-being as adults.
Instructors: Xie Ling Welch and Frances Swaine of Hug the Moon Wellness Studio. Ages: 11-15. Min/Max # of students: 6/12. Tuition: $200. Materials fee: None.
